5 Questions with Doris Karpeh-Diaz of Centro De Amigos (Featured on NYSOFA)

New York State Office for the Aging

National Hispanic Heritage Month is coming up in September. For this month’s edition of our 5 Questions series, NYSOFA caught up with Doris Karpeh-Diaz, Director at Centro De Amigos, LLC, a Latino-focused Social Adult Day Services program in Haverstraw.

At the Aging Concerns Unite Us (ACUU) conference in June, Karpeh-Diaz presented a session on the difference between terms like Latino, Hispanic and Latinx. For Hispanic Heritage Month, we asked her to revisit this topic and talk about other ways that aging services providers can best serve Spanish-speaking populations.
