1er Taller Anual Educacional de Salud Pública
Centro de Amigo, a senior day care center, was on the frontlines of providing vaccine information and a pop-up COVID testing and vaccine center targeting Spanish speaking residents of Rockland.
As is common knowledge now, the Hispanic/ Latino communities were disproportionally impacted by COVID-19, in part, due to the lack of information in Spanish, access to vaccines and lack of understanding how to navigate the health insurance system. The goal of this event is to educate the community about resources available to support them in their native language as they navigate their healthcare journey. Some participating organizations are Rockland County Office of Tourism and Economic Development, Somos Community Care, NYS Office for the Aging, and Centro de Amigos Adult Day Center, to name a few. Join us.
